Dubrovnik: Land of Teal and Orange

Updated: Jan 23, 2023

Dubrovnik was the last part of this Croatian Adventure. It too had key roles in "The Game of Thrones" due to its spectacular city walls overlooking the many beautiful blues of the Adriatic. We stayed at a boutique hotel which was a luxurious villa built in the end of the 18th century...The Heritage Vila Nobile. There are only 6 unique and special rooms and we had 5 of them! Each room reflects the lifestyle, legacy and accomplishments of nobles who visited - the admiral, the musician, the doctor, the painter, the writer and the educator. At the close of the 19th century, the villa and lush garden were the gathering place for the city's intellectual elites.

This hotel is set just outside the west gate of the old town city center and right across the street are some wonderful restaurants overlooking the Adriatic. As the sun set, we had delicious meals and watched the kayakers returning. It is a must to walk the walls overlooking the city with all the restaurants and shops and historical churches. Orange and teal coloring is all the rage for movies and photography and this is what struck me...so today's blog will be focused more on the images I captured rather than words. They take in Dubrovnik and surrounding islands. Enjoy the views!
