My heart leapt, jumped and soared this week! After months of spirit sapping, seemingly endless grays and browns, finally a rainbow of brilliance was in sight! With camera readied, I went out this past week to capture the cacophony of colorful flowers at the Philadelphia Flower Show. Walking into the Convention Center that was filled with every blooming flower imaginable, dazzling lights, fog swirling and water flowing in man made waterfalls, transported my heart to the arrival of spring and winter was a thing of the past. A ticket to the this flower show is the best anti-depression cure!
The end of the week brought me to another explosion of color...this time it was colored paint being tossed in every direction at the Bharatiya Temple. It was the celebration of HOLI, the annual Hindu festival of color, new beginnings, joy and spring! It also signifies the triumph of good over evil. What is not to like, I ask you!! With my camera covered in its own raincoat, I went into the colorful crowd and was smiled splashed with oranges, blues, reds and greens. The music played, the people danced and it was truly a celebration of spring! One day, I hope to be in India for HOLI, but for now, I am so grateful that my Hindu friends welcomed me with puffs of paint!
